Downtown works for those of us who prefer a less pretenious experience. IMHO.if you expect luxury and stellar service, stay on the strip. I think there is a shortage of lower end restaurant servers in LV. Service was extremely slow but food is always good. Try the Binions Steak House.better than Hugos. Spent a lot of time at Fremont and the Shoe (Binions Horseshoe). That's what you get when you choose to stay Downtown! TV was great, bed was confortable, bathroom and shower was fine.isn't that all you need! Did not really gamble there. You can tell it is old and has been remodeled many times. Check in was fine.no problems, but not that friendly either. We tried to stay at the Nugget, but we didn't want to pay >$200 a day. They were staying at the Nugget and had booked way earlier than we did. We were heading to Vegas to meet my brother and his adult kids for a reunion.
